2024: Year of Consistency

Encountering the Word of God is transformative. While all of scripture speaks to us, the Book of Psalms is unique in that it is a book in which creation speaks to God. As you read, I encourage you to share your thoughts and learnings with each other. We truly grow in our faith only through regular engagement with other believers. 

As you read, consider the following:

• How is God described?
• What have I learned about God?
• What have I learned about myself?
• How should I respond because of this psalm?
• Where in my life today can I/did I live out this psalm?

The template below will be used to help us read through the book of Psalms.  If you use this template, you would have read through the entire book of Psalms at least twice in 2024. 

Building Block 1 – Psalm 119:27 

Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.

Building Block 2 – Psalm 119:33 

Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.

Building Block 3 – Psalm 119:35

Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.

Building Block 4 – Psalm 119:43-44

Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws. I will always obey your law, for ever and ever.

In the night, Lord, I remember your name, that I may keep your law. This has been my practice: I obey your precepts.

You are my portion, Lord; I have promised to obey your words. I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.

May my cry come before you, Lord; give me understanding according to your word.

May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise.

May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees.

May my tongue sing of your word, for all your commands are righteous.

May your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.

I long for your salvation, Lord, and your law gives me delight.
